Zolon proudly served the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command (MRMC), the Army’s foremost organization dedicated to medical research, development, and acquisition, along with medical logistics management.
Embarking on a mission to enhance MRMC’s Information Management and Information Technology (IMIT) capabilities, this project aimed to support the critical research areas of infectious diseases, combat casualty care, and chemical and biological defense through comprehensive IT services.
With a 37-personnel team, Zolon delivered around-the-clock IT support across 44 applications, ensuring secure, efficient connectivity among MRMC’s globally dispersed units. Services ranged from system administration, software development, and web design to enterprise architecture support and video teleconferencing.
Zolon introduced a service-based application architecture focusing on openness, continuous improvement, and an effective user experience. This initiative encompassed management of over 350 server platforms, enhancing the IT infrastructure to support life-saving medical research.
Navigating the complexity of MRMC’s distributed IT environment and ensuring uninterrupted access to critical data were significant challenges. Zolon innovative approaches and robust technology solutions effectively addressed these issues, maintaining seamless operations.
The project significantly bolstered the efficiency and security of MRMC’s IT operations, directly supporting its mission to develop medical solutions for the battlefield and beyond.
